The Melanie Finley Ovarian Cancer Foundation is a grassroots charitable organization that was incorporated in 2008 to raise money for Ovarian Cancer education and direct financial assistance to young women who have been diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer.
After being diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in August 2007 I fought the battle and I am now in remission. I want to thank everyone for all of your help, support, thoughts and prayers that helped me though this difficult time. I am starting this foundation to help raise awareness and educate young women about the symptoms of Ovarian Cancer the ‘whispering killer’.
Each year over 22,000 women are diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and over 15,000 women will die. Ovarian Cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer-related deaths among U.S. women. By helping young women become aware of ovarian cancer symptoms, I hope that we will be able to make a difference and help them diagnose the ‘whispering killer’ before it can affect another life.
Donations will be used to provide direct financial assistance to young women diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer.
