In August 2007, at the age of 27 Melanie was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. It was a shocking and life altering experience. Through her battle against ovarian cancer that consisted of numerous surgeries and chemotherapy treatments, she has learned a great deal about ovarian cancer.
